"Christianity"? Or Discipleship... Perhaps I would have such an "issue" with the word "Christian" if it was the predominate term in the Bible used to describe members of his body... But its not. It is used a mere 3 times in the entire scripture. Perhaps, also, I would not "mind" the word as much if its true meaning were commonly known and meant each time the word is used... But it is not. Generally speaking, when someone says "Are you a 'Christian'" in todays Laodicean world of pseudo-spirituality, what they are actually asking is "have you ever verbalized the 'ABC's of 'salvation'?" This is what is taught as the "way to heaven", and I therefore try to disacociate myself from that dangerous teaching by using the more correct term "disciple" in writing and speech.

When you read the word "Christian" on this website, it means exactly what it has come to mean in modern society. Those who believe that saying "Lord, Lord" will cause them to inherit eternal life(note Matt. 7:21). When I use the term "disciple" (as in Luke 14:27), It denotes one who has taken up the cross to follow the master, and pattern their lives after his.
